Star Trek did better at that in merely 1 hour. The balance among the Demons, the Ketans, and the Eladins was glossed over, and the Astro-god's part in this was not developed fully.
And they are all after US! There were 2 points that weren't concluded. Like his father, Kyle Riggs, he starts inter-species wars with just about everyone he meets. It is good that he makes so many mistakes because he is altogether too smooth for his age. Seems Cody knows enough Greek mythology to name the star, the planets, and the peoples, but is short on 20C sci-fi. Several things that caused problems here have already been played out by Captains Kirk and Picard. he wouldn't have been duped by the Eladins. I would recommend it to any Sci-fi reader or listener. Every book involves you, gives you a bit to speculate on, and lots to feel vicariously. They were a genuine delight for me while I was needing the solace of a book, or in this case a well performed book on audio. Anyone who like military or light science speculation with lots of adventure will love these books. That they have been able to keep things fresh without too much redundancy for this many episodes is a real testament. And that along with lovable characters, well painted vicarious experiences from sex to nano injection to tightly drawn battle scenes, that make the reader effortlessly jump from book to book and not get bored. They were not just pawns for one mans speculation about an alien or tech scenario. But what kept things from becoming boring like so much hard sci-fi is that the main characters were vivid and central. And takes them to a fun speculative place that is populated by a wide variety of life forms. The author starts with some very simple and believable technologies that are quite clearly on the horizon.
